Rooted in the dramatic landscapes of the Scottish Highlands, Cairngorm Music was born out of a shared passion for traditional music, live concerts and music for dancing. What began as informal sessions and late-night tunes eventually grew into one of the region’s most trusted and sought-after outfits.

At the heart of the band is our core trio - Amy Henderson, Russell Murray, and Ewan MacPherson - three versatile, world-class musicians who bring decades of collective touring and main-stage experience to every event.

Offering a wide selection of traditional Scottish music, the group combines fiddle, accordion, guitar, mandolin, and vocals - delivering everything from lively dance sets to sensitive background tunes and classic folk songs.

The band's members bring impressive performance backgrounds, with individual credits including top traditional, indie, and Highland rock acts such as Skipinnish, Shooglenifty, Salt House, Torridon, Siobhan Miller, Afro-Celt Sound-system and Malinky.

Collectively, they have performed at major events ranging from Celtic Connections to international festivals across Europe, Australia, and Asia. They are also experienced tutors for organizations including Fèis Rois, the Youth Music Initiative, and Live Music Now.

Alongside a broad repertoire, the band provides expert, clear, and friendly ceilidh calling, comfortably guiding dancers of all experience levels—from absolute beginners to seasoned guests.

The result is an engaging, professional Scottish music and ceilidh experience for private celebrations, corporate events, weddings, and high-energy local dances.

In addition to the core trio Cairngorm Music also works with some of the finest musicians in the Highlands, to ensure we always deliver on our bookings and provide the highest quality music for our clients.
